I saw it 《月光光心慌慌》at TIFF this year and I thought that the close 60 year old virgin girl Laurie Strode, who is the sole survivor of Michael Myers' 1978 killing spree, suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder should not be back. Chasing this old woman is quite fun for Michael Myers? True Halloween fans will disappoint that this sequel slashes the part 2-6 (1981-1995) and its reboots, such as Halloween H20: 20 Years Later (1998); Halloween: Resurrection (2002); Halloween (2007); Halloween II (2009).
The Failed franchise business has a specific feature that is endless denial of precedented sequel tales to its original work. It is look like failed rail construction.
HALLOWEEN (1983-2018) and The Texas Chainsaw Massacre (1990-2017) are typical failed examples of film franchise. i.e. Leatherface: The Texas Chainsaw Massacre III (1990); Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The Next Generation(1994); The Texas Chainsaw Massacre(2003); The Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The Beginning(2006); Texas Chainsaw 3D(2013) and Leatherface(2017) are all failures. Only HALLOWEEN part 2, 4-6 (1981, 1988-95) are acceptable for loyal fans due to Donald Pleasence as Dr. Loomis.

You can't have a true HALLOWEEN movie without him.
It proves that everything what we saw after Halloween II (1981) is something unofficial to this Halloween universe. There is no true Halloween film without Donald Pleasence as Dr. Loomis! This franchise should be ceased when Donald Pleasence passed away in 1995. Why they keep imitating the original like THE THING? Its simple reason is that successful film work is a pure money making device for someone.

In memory of Donald Pleasence (1919-1995)
